And hope does not disappoint, because the love of Godhas been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:5)
It is only through God’s power that we can love others in the way he desires.
Second Timothy 1:7 tells us, “For God did not give us a Spiritof fear but of power and love and self-control.” Love, power, and self-control must come from a power greater than ourselves. It is through Son Power that God works in us to accomplish the things he wants us to do. It is through Son Power we exercise the self-control we need to discipline ourselves.
The same is true when it comes to love. God has poured his love into our heart by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that perfects the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ in us. It is the Holy Spirit’s power and love that flows through us to touch the lives of others.
Loving others in our own strength can at times prove nearly impossible. But with God, nothing is impossible.
Today, ask yourself:
In what ways is Son Power operating in my life so that God’s love is poured out to others?
