Scripture: Romans 14:17, NLT
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17, NLT)
It took me a long time to figure out that life does not consist of an abundance of things. Life is in the Spirit.
Living for kingdom values, and investing our time, talent, and treasure for the kingdom are goals we practice in KingdomNomics.
The Spirit searches all things and reveals the deep things of God. Through the Spirit, we discover the secrets of the kingdom. Therefore, our key objective is to sow to the Spirit so we can experience eternal life.
“Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.” (Galatians 6:8, NLT)
Yes, the Spirit will impart his life to us as we live in harmony with him. “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” (Romans 8:11, NLT)
I am progressively learning to ask God to direct my heart into the love of God, and into the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, so I can have communion with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit reveals, and deals with me as I navigate through life. In this way, I grow with the increase that comes from God.
Talk to God
Thank you, God, for showing me how I must make it my heart’s goal to have communion with the Holy Spirit. He is the one who teaches me through your Word, and he is the one who imparts the eternal life of the Son to me. I ask for your presence to be an increasing reality in my everyday life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
