Memorize and Meditate
“For everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child.” (Hebrews 5:13, ESV)
Soak your Heart
The Word of God is to our soul what food is to our physical body. When we grasp this truth, we have a tremendous incentive to delve deeply into the Word and to establish a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Only through a rich diet of the Word dwelling in us can we be strengthened in our inner person. Not only that, but it is impossible for us to grow spiritually without “eating” the Word. A child or a baby will not grow unless it moves on to a more mature diet.
This verse confirms we will be unskilled in our spiritual walk unless we partake of a mature diet.
Sow to the Spirit
Express gratitude to God for providing his Word. Tell him how much you believe in it. Reflect on how the Word works inside you, transforming your attitudes and behavior.
Flow with the Spirit
As you listen to the Spirit, picture yourself planted in the Word, absorbing its power into your inner being. The Spirit will impart and flow his life in you as you reflect on this. Whether you feel it or not, by faith believe he is flowing inside of you.
Practice
As you go through your day, pause and reflect about the transformation that is taking place inside you.
