Scripture: Revelation 22:20
“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (NKJV)
As the Creator, God is always on the move. The landscape of “circumstances” of the world are constantly changing. Opportunities come and go.
Scripture emphasizes the brevity of life many times: “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.” (Romans 13:11–12, NKJV)
This is an exhortation we had better listen to in order to be prepared!
We are to be on high alert: “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” (Matthew 25:13, NKJV)
Without question, Jesus Christ is returning to this world. This coming event can happen at any time. Do you have a sense of expectancy?
“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.” (Philippians 3:20–21, NKJV) What a joy it will be to get that glorified body!
In the meantime, we are to do business until he comes. The words of the Psalmist are appropriate, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning— Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.” (Psalm 130:5–6, NKJV)
When military personnel are on night watch, they long for the morning to come. We long for the Lord Jesus to come to straighten out the mess we find ourselves in the midst of this world.
Remember the difference of the perishing and the imperishable and how we should spend our time. “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” (Matthew 24:32–35, NKJV)
Heaven and earth are going to pass away; however, God’s Word will never pass away. Furthermore, every soul in the world will have to face eternity. Our mission to our generation is to see as many as possible inherit eternal life according to the gospel. Each person should ask the question, “Am I part of the solution, or am I part of the problem?”
If you have become a practitioner of KingdomNomics, you are part of the solution. We are on duty. We are on mission to help fulfill the Great Commission. Let us stay on course and stay focused until the mission is accomplished.
Today, ask yourself:
- Am I part of the solution?
- Am I on watch participating with the army of the Lord in fulfilling the Great Commission?
