The Tablet of Your Heart

The Tablet of Your Heart | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Proverbs 3:3–4, NKJV

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3:3–4 NKJV)

Have you ever thought about what is written on the tablet of your heart?

In KingdomNomics we stress the importance of soaking the heart in the Word of God. The heart is like a sponge and soaks up whatever is around it. Whatever we soak our hearts in becomes our treasure. If the water is dirty, then the treasure is dirty. If the water is pure, then the treasure of the heart will be pure.

God’s Word is Food for the Soul

God’s Word is Food for the Soul | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Matthew 4:4, NIV

Jesus answered, ‘It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”’ (Matthew 4:4, NIV)

There you have it. If we are going to experience a true spiritual life renewal, we need to know and receive the Word of God, “but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” (2 Timothy 1:10, NKJV)

Without God’s Word we are weak, ignorant vessels, losing our way in this complex world system dedicated to keep us from discovering and living the truth.

Broken Cisterns

The Word of God gives us the nourishment we need to live abundantly in this world | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Jeremiah 2:13, NIV

My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” (Jeremiah 2:13, NIV)

Many people in the secular world look for life in the wrong places. Believers always need to be on their guard to avoid making this same mistake.

Notice this verse begins with “My people.” They are accused of making to two big mistakes: forsaking the true source of life and looking to alternate sources for meeting their needs.

Open My Eyes

Through the Word, we gain understanding of God’s eternal plan and our role in it | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Psalm 119:18, ESV

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” (Psalm 119:18, ESV)

To understand the Word of God, we need special revelation from God through the Holy Spirit. Revelation and transparency are the hallmarks in any relationship.

Jesus promised that both he and the Father would make their home with us and reveal themselves to us if we obeyed their commandments.

Avoiding Mission Drift

WATCH to keep on mission | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Matthew 25:13, NIV

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” (Matthew 25:13, NIV)

We are counseled in Scripture to watch for many things. We are particularly told to be on the look out for the return of the Lord, which can happen at anytime. Our time bubble can pop at anytime, thrusting us into the eternal paradigm.

We need to guard against mission drift. Converterlators are on mission and need to keep on mission. The following acrostic, W-A-T-C-H, can help us keep on mission.

The Path to Peace

The Path to Peace | KingdomNomics.cmScripture: Colossians 3:15, NLT

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15, NLT)

Jesus Christ is the source of our peace. He is the fountain of life. As believers, our relationship with him allows us to have access to this peace through SOAK, SOW, and FLOW, a process that is a basic principle in KingdomNomics.

The Lord’s Return

Our citizenship is in heaven | KingdomNomics.comScripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, NKJV

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, NKJV)

Yes, the Lord is going to return to this world. Count on it. Just as there were many prophecies in the Old Testament regarding the first coming of Jesus Christ, there are many passages like the one above stating how Jesus Christ is going to return to this world to set up his Kingdom.

He is Our Defense

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” (Proverbs 30:5, ESV) | Scripture: Proverbs 30:5, ESV

Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” (Proverbs 30:5, ESV)

We are influenced by both the world we see and the unseen spiritual world:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” (Ephesians 6:12–13, ESV)

Open Our Eyes!

Luke 24:31 | KingdomNomicsScripture: Psalm 119:18, NIV

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” (Psalm 119:18, NIV)

Scripture has a lot to say about eyes. Where we focus our eyes is important; they can lead us astray or they can keep our attention of the goals God has places in front of us. We are counseled to look neither to the right or the left. Like the runner in the race, we are to keep our eyes focused on the goal.

As we focus our eyes on the Word of God, we will get to know God better:

Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him….” (Luke 24:31, NIV)

God’s Word will communicate with us, and we will recognize the truth he wants us to experience. We will grow to know Christ as he reveals himself to us.

Feed Your Soul

Feed your soul on God's Word | KingdomNomicsScripture: 1 Corinthians 3:6–7

“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” (ESV)

Proper growth only comes from God. As we grow in Christ, our focus becomes sharper with a greater comprehension of what Christ wants us to do in this world. We also want to make sure that any “growth” we experience is growth sourced in God.
