God’s Word Works!

God’s Word Works | KingdomNomics.comMemorize and Meditate

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13, NIV)

Soak your Heart

If we are to taste the goodness of God’s Word, we first have to receive it, accept it, and implant it in the depths of our heart.

We cannot read the Word of God the same way we read other books. God’s Word is living and powerful, and it will work in the life of the believer who views it as such.

It works like a powerful medicine when it is properly ingested. We trust that it will prosper in us and accomplish the purpose for which it was sent.

Yes, the Almighty will be your gold and your precious silver.” (Job 22:25, NKJV)

Soak your Heart

For many people, money and earthly wealth become a god. However, as we begin to soak our heart in the Word of God and see it working in us and in our circumstances, a new reality comes into focus.

Our relationship with God is far more valuable than anything else. Whereas gold and silver are inanimate, all power belongs to God. He is alive. His works are wonderful. Life is found in him alone.

Soak your heart in this truth, and God will become your gold and precious silver.

Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.” (James 1:21, NIV)

Soak your Heart

For the Word of God to work in our heart, we need to make sure we have a clean heart, free from the control of sin. This is why we confess and repent of our sin to restore a working relationship with God.

One of the best protections against sin gaining control is to humbly accept and plant the Word in our heart. God’s Word can save us from fear, anxiety, and a host of other maladies seek to control us. The Psalmist said he hid God’s Word in his heart so he would not sin against God. We want to soak our heart in the Word.

The Compass of Life

And he said, ‘…. As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.’” (Genesis 24:27, NKJV)

Soak your Heart

If we expect to receive God’s guidance, direction, and blessing, it is critical that we are “on the way” – the Lord’s way. If we expect him to answer our requests, we must make sure we are abiding in him and his Word is abiding us. We must bring our lives into harmony with his revealed will for us.

Only then are we empowered to fulfill the mission he has given us. What better time to check that we are “on the way” God has chosen for us than when we are meditating on the Word he wants to incorporate into our life?

For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.” (Philippians 1:19, NIV)

Soak your Heart

This verse is power-packed. I want to soak my heart in it. Our communion with God through the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ provides the way for our deliverance, both in this world and the world to come.

In KingdomNomics, we learn through Scripture and we practice keeping Jesus Christ as the focus of our life. We realize that everything is sourced in him. His Spirit can supply the peace, love, patience, and kindness we need. He also has the power to ultimately make all things turn out for our good. He is the God of provision and of all power.

In KingdomNomics we focus on our relationship with God. This verse in Revelation tells us how Jesus Christ will come into our lives, much like having a friend over for dinner in order to develop a relationship with us.

The Tablet of Your Heart

The Tablet of Your Heart | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Proverbs 3:3–4, NKJV

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3:3–4 NKJV)

Have you ever thought about what is written on the tablet of your heart?

In KingdomNomics we stress the importance of soaking the heart in the Word of God. The heart is like a sponge and soaks up whatever is around it. Whatever we soak our hearts in becomes our treasure. If the water is dirty, then the treasure is dirty. If the water is pure, then the treasure of the heart will be pure.

Adorn the Doctrine of God

Adorn the Doctrine of God | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Titus 2:10, ESV

“…Not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.” (Titus 2:10 ESV)

True faith is having a personal relationship with God through the person of Jesus Christ. Christianity is not a list of dos and don’ts or just an intellectual belief in the tenets of the Christian faith. We have been born again to a living hope, a relationship with the risen Savior who literally lives in and through the life of believers.

That being the case, Scripture exhorts us to be good examples of what we proclaim: “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27 ESV).

If we are to be effective, our daily conduct cannot contradict what we say we believe in.

Saved to Do Good Works

Saved to Do Good Works | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Titus 2:14, NKJV

Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” (Titus 2:14 NKJV)

Among other things, we have been saved to do good works.

Let’s be clear about this: good works do not save us, and we are not saved by the good works we do.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:5–7 NKJV)
