Playing to an Audience of One

Playing to an Audience of One | KingdomNomics.comScripture: Psalm 44:3, NKJV

For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them.” (Psalm 44:3, NKJV)

The world elevates those whom it proclaims are “self-made” individuals. Many of these people bask in the glory given to them.

In reality, all of life is sourced in God. Psalm 44:3 shows believers that we are not self-sufficient people who can claim successes of our own making. He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.

We learn two great lessons from the life of King Uzziah, who reigned in Judah for a long period of time. We want to pursue the first lesson, but avoid the second lesson like the plague. This is particularly true if we practice KingdomNomics and are in a leadership position.

It is written, “He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done. He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.” (2 Chronicles 26:4–5, NIV)

This is the formula for success. Success comes from the Lord. God gave Uzziah success in response for his having sought the Lord.
